Books Change Everything 2023

Since 2018, we have provided over 85,000 books to schools and libraries in Ethiopia. We want to keep that momentum going in 2023! We are partnering with Open Hearts Big Dreams (OHBD) to get more books to Ethiopia. OHBD has a lovely series of early reader books called Ready Set Go. They are written, illustrated, and published specifically for Ethiopian children. Even better, they are printed in Ethiopia!

We are raising $4 for the printing and distribution of each Ready Set Go book. The printing in Ethiopia supports the local economy. We love that so much!

The Ready Set Go book series are early reader books created specifically for Ethiopian children which are available in local languages. They offer bright, colorful illustrations plus culturally appropriate and engaging stories that have been approved by Ethiopian Ministry of Education officials. The books are designed to draw children in so they develop a love for reading and improve reading comprehension. The content, illustration, and translation have been worked on by many American and Ethiopian collaborators. Even better, they are printed in Ethiopia! There are over 140 titles currently available. They are the only books of their kind in Ethiopia.
